About
Silicon Knights, a developer name that most people have heard out of
somewhere. A very small team years ago, made a major hit RPG on PC called
Blood Omen. However, they sadly had a problem with their publisher and
ended up giving up the franchise and breaking up with them. Years later...
emerged a new game in development called Too Human, a 4-disc game that
was set to be released on PlayStation. Oh and look what happened when so
many people were looking foward to the RPG that was being visually compared
to FF8. It got terminated. Instantly. Why? Because Nintendo acquired Silicon
Knights as a 2nd party developer! Now the ex-PSX game is making its way
towards the gamecube, and also a short FMV was shown in Spaceworld of this
game. No downloadable videos though, for some reason :( This company is
known for its very adult-oriented games, which is exactly what Nintendo
need to fill its gap. This can be seen in Eternal Darkness also, which
was considered one of the games of E3. |
Strengths
Quite a talented company, who have got many people excited in the past.
All their games are original and have new ideas.
Their games are very adult-oriented, which will really help Gamecube's
appeal.
|
Weaknesses
They seem to be working on only 1 or 2 projects at a time, which might
not mean too many games for Gamecube.
Most of their development team have never made games before, which may
be critical.

Relationship With Nintendo
If you look at the things the director of Silicon Knights have said,
you'll realize they are all good. In fact, they are absolutely certain
that Nintendo's Gamecube will be the major console, and they are also ceratin
people will see in E3 and later that Gamecube will have the best games
early on because it's so easy to develop for, and also seemed very haapy
about their game(s) on Gamecube. Hmmmm... isn't this a sign that their
only Gamecube game, Too Human is doing very very well? I hope so. He believes
you'll see the power of Gamecube at E3... very positive stuff for Nintendo! |
