Any N64 owner who has played Super Mario 64 just cannot put it down in any aspect. It is considered one of the best videogames in history, and it was the first game to fully utilize a 3D camera. It defined the meaning of genuine gameplay, and boy genuine gameplay it was.
A Spaceworld demo showed off a little cutscene of Luigi (no, not Mario) entering an eerie mansion. Then it showed him being chased by ghosts, chandlets falling to the groundright behind him, multiple spectacular-looking boos surrounding and rotating around him.

As long as Miyamoto and his team hasn't changed for some reason, Nintendo will again deliver amazing gameplay with ground-breaking innovative features, visuals and ideas. This will be the flagship title that has to prove all, and hopefully won't quite turn out like Sonic's Adventure on Dreamcast, which wasn't exactly ground-breaking and didn't have the best gameplay.
One thing has to be noted - you can be quite sure the final product will look significantly better than the Luigi's Mansion demo, because the demo had some blurry textures and kind of a too 'pictury' feeling in the visuals. Hopefully the final product will look more 'realistic' if you like, and have much crispier textures. It's very likely that there is no such thing as Luigi's separate game as rumours suggest, but mario and Luigi will be in one game, or at the very most 2 separate versions like Pokemon.

Outlook
It will turn out like Sonic's Adventure at the worst, and it won't, hopefully. Note that the final product should look much better than the demo in terms of textures (yes, the textures in Luigi's Mansion were quite blurry and the scene in that room at the start, where the curtains were blowing, looked like a hi-res N64 version with the same textures), and the overall visula quality because the demo simply looked a bit too 'pictury', especially if you look at the screenshot with Luigi sliding down the banister.
This is the title that HAS to prove ALL.
